Elite Events: How does it work? 

Our Elite Events Program is about giving you a real and tangible goal to drive your results. Exciting and intense it's your chance to be treated, and treat yourself as an athlete at any one or all of the following events:

Here's the style of commitment attached to each program. You will need to complete:

  • At least one extra 90 minute or 2 hours session per week
  • All your regular sessions
  • Do your Elite Event Homework in  your own time
  • Complete your online training diary know as you Library of Success
  • The purchase your food diary app & keep it up to date.
  • Your entry in the event. 
  • We always aim to have a Wednesday and a Saturday training stream so everyone can get all their Elite Sessions done.

Spartan Sprint Race- Lizard Log, Abbotsbury NSW

This elite events program has grown out of the resounding success of Tough Mudder Elite Events. And it is absolutely superb for driving your fitness to a crescendo in 2018.

Spartan Australia is on again as we head for summer in 2018, this time on the Horsley Drive at Abbotsbury NSW on a brand new site that promises challenges galore. 

The program starts on Wednesday 22 August and runs for 6 weeks. 

Here's a quick rundown of what the race involves:

The Spartan Sprint provides a 7k-10/25 obstacle course featuring challenging terrain combined with obstacles created to test your physical strength and mental resolve.

Running, climbing, jumping, swinging, crawling and dodging are all part of the course in a Spartan Race. This endurance race consists of hills, trails, mud and custom-built obstacles designed to make every racer push themselves more than ever. Expect the unexpected at every muddy turn!

Unlike the Tough Mudder, there is no option to miss obstacles. If you, or fail to complete one, there is a 30 burpee penalty.

Here's how the program works:

  • You train at least three times a week with Fit4Dreams or Mums Squad with childcare for you children (if you need it).
  • At least one of those sessions must be an extension session i.e. back to back sessions on a Saturday or booking in an extra 30 minute extension session to one of our weekday sessions.
  • You can do more than one extension session/as many as you can fit in as long as you are not the only one doing it
  • You start your extension sessions from Wednesday 22 August

Fees

You pay your regular training fees for training 3 times per week.

$220 fee covers as many extension sessions as you can do. Any childcare you need for extension sessions is included at no extra cost for your extension sessions.

Race Entry

You will need to handle your own race entry.

Fun + Fitness = Confidence

Fun, Fitness, Confidence, Self-Belief. Sometimes you have to go old school to get it. We offer a training program for kids to get ready for this 2km obstacle event. You get 45 minutes to do as many laps as you can and we will get you kids ready to run, climb, slide and swing their way through the course. Watch our team in action!

Kids Spartan- OCt 6, 2018

Balance, Walk, Crawl, Jump and Run. You will be ready to take on the Spartans Kids Event this year. It's 20 obstacles in 2km and you try to do as many laps as you can in 45 minutes.

There are two age divisions. 3-7 years old and 8-14 years old. We will get you ready to roll, stronger than before and more confident than ever. 

This program is absolutely superb for driving your fitness for other sports and developing a can do attitude.

You will make sure you can run the whole 2km, climb ropes, learn to do chin ups, work through our own obstacle courses, improve your balance and learn how to do exercises correctly.

Put all that together and you will be standing on the start line ready to go.

Training starts on Sunday 9 September. Here's what the program involves:

  • Training twice per week for one hour- Wednesday at 7.00am and Sundays at 7.30am for 4 weeks starting Sunday September 9
  • Doing some daily fitness homework
  • Racing on Saturday 6 October in the Kids Spartan

Fees

$190 fee covers all 8 sessions that are on offer. You get to come to as many as you can and will receive weekly homework assignments to do on your own each day. 

  • Sundays Only Training $115 starting from September 9, 2018.
  • Wednesdays Only Training $115 Starting from September 12,2018

Race Entry

Race entry is not included in the program cost. You will need to handle your own race entry.

Awesome challenge. Get ready for summer before it starts

Love our 3 Points Challenge Program. Every year we have 20 places. People just come back and do it over. Thats how good it is. This year people have gone expat, booked long school holidays and left openings for the next generation. We have places available.

Life Changing Program Incorporating running and swimming training with underwater video analysis of your swimming stoke, fitness testing, fitness programing during a 10 week program. The first month prepares you for the last 6 weeks where you train in the surf at North Curl Curl Surf club and do our very own practice event. Childcare is available at every session. This is a program that will make a fantastic difference to your summer. 

Summer 2018. The 3 Points + 3 Pools Challenge.

It's your choice....or just do both!

3 Points Challenge is on 01/12/18

You battle three surf breaks, three tough swims and three flat out runs. The 3 Points Challenge demands your fitness focus as you countdown to the race, Summer and Christmas. It's exciting because you tick-off so many goals without even thinking about them.

Training will begin at 10am on Saturday 22 September & 6.30am on Sunday 23 September 2018 at Balmoral with everyone given a set time to do their first swimming test so that we can set your program, film your stroke underwater and set your goals for the program. 

Everyone will received their customised program and video analysis on their swimming and then go away and work on laying their water fitness foundations before returning after the school holidays to commence the program proper on Sunday 7 October. (We also usually have a bonus session on the Monday of the October long weekend! ) 

WHAT WILL YOU ACHIEVE

If each year's team is anything to go by, you can expect to achieve:

  • Improved confidence in your swimming, water fitness and ability;

  • Increased running fitness and pace;

  • Weight loss and improved muscle tone;

  • Fantastic fitness returns from the combination of running and swimming;

  • An overwhelming sense of achievement as you achieve something new, improve on last year or just do something you weren't sure you could; and

  • A new energy and motivation for your fitness that you can share amongst a great team.

3 Pools Challenge

The surf is the big variable in the 3 Points Challenge. Conditions can be tough and depending on your swimming level they can be too much.

So we run the Three Swims Pool Challenge as the official end to this Elite Events Program..... if you then go on to complete the 3 Points Challenge it's just another fitness victory for you!

The 3 Pools Challenge is always held on the last Sunday in November. This year if falls on November 25. This is what it involves:

It will be a handicapped event with at least: 

  • 400m in the Balmoral Baths;

  • Coronation Hill and Bush Track Run;

  • Followed by 400m in the Chowder Bay Baths;

  • Chowder Bay Road Run;

  • 400m in the Balmoral Baths; and

  • A final 1km effort on the soft sand to finish.

The winner will receive the 3 Swims Pool Challenge Perpetual Trophy currently held by Amanda Robertson.

The Elite Events Program for the 3 Points & Swim Challenges is.....

  • Access to our Library of Success with information, guides and videos for all your swimming and running training.

  • Access to our Fitness Training Diary & feedback pages

  • 1 x Session of testing, video analysis, program and goal setting

  • 1 x swimming program tailored to your level and designed to hope you improve through the school holidays in preparation for the first official 3 Points Challenge Session.

  • 1 bonus swim session on the Monday of the October Long Weekend followed by a Fit4Dreams Dryland session with childcare if needed.

  • 2 x 2 hour Sunday sessions (7 & 14 Oct) at Balmoral with 1 hour of swimming & 1 hour of running with childcare if needed.

  • 6 x 2 hour sessions of training with childcare if needed including ocean surf training with water safety provided by North Curl Curl Surf Club along with swimming tuition & running training, monitoring, review and expert coaching in the surf in the final 6 weeks leading up to the following events:

  • 3 Swims Challenge on Sunday November 26 at Balmoral which is run by Fit4Dreams and Entry is included in the program fees and

  • The 3 Points Challenge on Sat 2 Dec at North Curl Curl (you need to pay for your own entry into this event).

Childcare support will also be available if you come to Mums Squad sessions at 8.15am and want to do swimming training from 9.30am to 10.30am. Click to book your spot

There will also be Wednesday Sessions available at Balmoral. In these sessions you do the 9.30am Mums Squad Session and then say on from 10.30am to 11.30am for a coached swimming session. 

3 Points Challenge Training Commitment: Times, Venues & Full Program

You can train in the Wednesday Session, the Weekend Sesssions, both days each week or a combination of the two. If you plan to do the 3 Points Challenge you will need to clear space to train on Saturday Mornings from 21 October 2017 at 7am-9am at North Curl Curl until November 25 2017 and pay the $150 water safety fee.

We test your swimming and use it to give you one of 4 swimming programs for you to work through. Then you build your water fitness in the school holidays and aim to improve your technique in every session by following the advice on your video analysis. You then arrive at our first session on Sunday 8 October with plenty of laps under your belt. 

Weekend Training sessions- 9 Sessions in 8 weeks incl Awesome Practice Event

Weekend Training starts at Balmoral with two 1 hour SUNDAY SQUAD sessions in the flat water.

  • Sun 6am-9am at Balmoral-Sun 16 September- Testing, Program and Goal Setting with Video Analysis of swimming.

  • Sun 6.30am-8.30am at Balmoral- Sun October 7- Swimming Session followed by Running Training.

  • Sun 6.30am-8.30am at Balmoral- Sun October 14- Swimming Session followed by Running Training.

Weekend Training builds to surf training at Nth Curl Curl with SATURDAY SURF Training followed by an hour of running and swimming training.

3 Points Challenge Elite Events Training Program Details & Commitments

  • Water Safety will be provided at 6 Surf Sessions held at North Curl Curl by the North Curl Curl Surf Club.

  • If safety officers from North Curl Curl Surf Club say it is not safe to go in the water on a particular training day, there will be no training in the surf on that day. We will do extra running or pool work instead. There will be no refund of training or water safety fee.

  • You need to handle your own entry for the event. Click here to enter

  • Any session you miss can and should be made up at any one of the other Elite Events Sessions being held;

  • The 3-Points Challenge training is at least one extra two hour session each week done in addition to your regular training program.

  • You will be given a program to complete in your own time in addition to your regular Mums Squad or Fit4Dreams Sessions;

  • You will be asked to record the details of your training and diet in the Library of Success training diary as an avenue to your elite events breakthrough fitness results;

  • You need to be able to swim at a basic level and be ready to do extra work in the pool to improve your swimming ability and confidence each week by completing the swimming program in your own time and practicing the things you learn in your sessions. PEOPLE WHO PRACTICE THEIR SWIMMING DO WELL!;

  • Your ability to participate in the race may depend on the conditions on the day. That’s why we have a full-on practice event in flat water the Sunday.

Water Safety Fee

If you plan to train in any of our sessions with water safety provided by North Curl Curl Surf Club a water safety fee of $150 is added to your fees.

3PC Training Fees

  • Training for one person at one Saturday session per week without childcare with Water Safety Fee Included- $820

  • Training for 1 person at 1 Saturday session per week AND as many Weekday water sessions as you can attend with Water Safety Fee Included- $960

  • Training at Weekday sessions only Wednesday and/or Friday is $670.

Extra children will be charged at $18 per child per Elite Events Session. Also if you need childcare at the 3 Swims Challenge at Balmoral on November 26 it will be $18 per child.

Refreshing Water Temperature

We are starting the program earlier this year so for the first two weeks of the program some people find the water chilly. Get in quickly and start your training. That will keep you warm more than anything else but if you feel you need some thermal support you can buy a wetsuit or thermal rash shirt 2-3mm thick. However they make it harder to get your arms out of the water and you can get rashes from them.

You can buy a tri suit that is good for swimming and running. Really handy. Here are some links:

Swimming Gear Required

Please make sure you bring with you:

  • Goggles;

  • A swimming cap if you feel the cold;

  • Flippers;

  • A kicking board; and

  • Hand paddles.

Waterproof Stopwatch

A waterproof stopwatch the can record your lap times is vital. Most basic digital watches can do it. You only need to be able to record one lap time. It is also great if it has a timer on it and even better if you can set different interval times. At a pinch you can use your phone. Not so good in the pool though. But getting better with the later model phones!

This is our first Elite Events Program of the year. It's an exciting milestone on the 2nd Sunday in May and a great challenge as you make Mothers Day extra special with a fitness celebration.

Our training will get you ready to do the race but it’s not just about finishing, it’s about doing your best beyond the limits you’ve created for yourself.

Best ever, breakthrough fitness, miracle results. They’re big promises but you’ll deliver for yourself with the wonderful commitment the Events Programs requests of you.

Training begins with a special session on Wednesday 21 March at 9.30am and runs for 6 weeks with training on a Wednesday.

Elite Event Fees for Mothers Day Classic:

  • $380 without childcare. 

  • $470 with childcare for one child. Extra children added at $15 per child per session.

  • $560 with childcare for two children. 

You can pay upfront or by direct debit. Book your place here.

Training Sessions

  • Training will be every Wednesday for 8 sessions with the last session being Wednesday 9 May. You can also attend extra sessions on Fridays and Sundays. Friday will be strength and speed work sessions for an hour. Sunday will be longer work. Please see all the times and dates in theist below. In all there are 22 sessions available. You can come to as many as you can manage but must come to at least 8.
  • The first Wednesday session is on Wed 21 March at 9.30am at Balmoral.
  • Sessions go for between 60 and 90 minutes.
  • The Race is on Sunday 13 May. Everyone is responsible for their own entry. You can enter the race at the Mothers Day Classic Website.
  • You can make up Elite Events sessions you miss at any of our group training sessions.
  • We need 8 starters to train a team.

    SMH Half Half Marathon Training 

    The SMH Half Marathon is held on the 3rd Sunday in May. In 2018 it's on Sunday the 20th of May.

    It's a big step up from the Mothers Day Classic but we run these programs together.

    You do your short work on a Wednesday with the Mothers Day Classic Team and then step up for a longer run on a Sunday Morning between 6.30am and 8am to build your endurance event for this 21km challenge.

    It's a great way to build the fitness you need for this gruelling event.

    Elite Event Fees for SMH Half are based on a Wednesday and Sunday session with the Mothers Day Classic team. 

    LITE EVENT FEES FOR SMH Half Marathon

    • $420 without childcare. 

    • Childcare is added at $18 per child per session.

    Aquathon: 2km Run, 500m Swim & 5km Run

    So excited to see the weekend of 3 & 4 February has become a carnival of summer fitness. The Cole Classic has been a great Sunday event on either side of the harbour for decades. Now they've added a Run, Swim, Run race from Dee Why to Manly on the Saturday.

    Building out of the tremendous success and extraordinary fitness achieved by our 3 Points Challenge Team every year we've added this Holiday Swimming and running program.

    There are 13 sessions. The program costs $195 but is only $175 if you commit before Christmas.

    Tough Mudder Elite Extension Program

    This 6 week program invovles extending our regular group training sessions by 30 minutes to give you the Tough Mudder Fitness Edge when you take on the 18-20km course on Sunday Nov 19, 2017. There will be 20+ obstacles which breaks up the running nicely for anyone who is worried about the distance. 

    Here's the details for our program:

    • You must upgrade your regular program to three sessions on three different days per week.
    • You must do one 30 or 60 minute extension session on one of those sessions each week.
    • You must do your own runs.
    • Extension sessions will be held on Monday and Wednesday at Balmoral 5.30am-7.00am, Tues & Thurs (5.30am-7.00am) & Sat (6am-8.15am)
    • You can also do back to back Mums Squad sessions or our 90 minute Rolling start sessions on a Tuesday and Thursday at Balmoral.
    • There is no limit to the number of extension sessions you can do as long as you are not the only one doing the extension session that day.
    • The cost is your regular training plus $320 which covers as many extension sessions as you can do (including any childcare).
    • You will need to cover your own race entry.

    Survival of the Fittest- Sat Dec 10 

    One the way back from the Amazing Spartan Adventure Race Oct 16, our fantastic team said lets do it again, got out their phones and booked us in for the Survival of the Fittest on Dec 10.

    And what a way to get ready for Christmas. But before that lets just see whats in store:

    • 50 Obstacles and
    • 10 Kilometres including an airbag jump, parkour zone and army assault course.

    Running, climbing, jumping, swinging, crawling and dodging are all part of the Survival of the Fittest Race. Every event is different and there are a host of obstacles for the organisers to choose from. 

    Here's how the program works:

    • You train at least three times a week with Fit4Dreams or Mums Squad.
    • At least one of those sessions must be an extension session i.e. back to back sessions on a Saturday or booking in an extra 30 minute extension session to one of our weekday sessions.
    • You can do more than one extension session/ as many as you can fit in as long as you are not the only one doing it
    • You start your extension sessions from Wednesday 18 October.

    Fees

    You pay your regular training fees for training 3 times per week, though you can use any make-ups to get your extra sessions.

    Your $280 fee covers your as many extension sessions as you can do. Any childcare you need for extension sessions is included.

    Spartan Adventure. Tick. Tough Mudder. Tick. Now we're adding True Grit to the Adventure program. In 2017 True Grit is on Saturday the 10th of June.

    Here's a quick rundown of what the race involves:

    A True Grit course is 10-12km in length with 30+ obstacles around a course that highlights regional natural terrain. Our aim is to deliver a truly unique experience to those that dare

    True Grit events will also contain multiple routes, determined by your ability to make decisions whilst fatigued..

    Here's how the program works:

    • You train at least three times a week with Fit4Dreams or Mums Squad.
    • At least one of those sessions must be an extension session i.e. back to back sessions on a Saturday or booking in an extra 30 minute extension session to one of our weekday sessions.
    • You can do more than one extension session as long as you are not the only one doing it
    • You start your extension sessions from Monday 1 May.

    Fees

    You pay your regular training fees for training 3 times per week over the 6 week program.

    $270 fee covers as many extension sessions as you can do. You need to handle your own entry into the event.

    CITY2SURF

    Challenges are the elixer of Life and the City2Surf is one of the world's great fitness challenges. It's a fun race but make no mistake it is a tough one.

    Want to do it but have never done it? Done it before? What about a new best time? Love running? Hate running? It doesn't really matter. What is important, is you want to do it.

    If you want to achieve you're best and then break-through to something new for your fitness, this program is for you and it starts every year in mid June.

    City2Surf Fee Package-$440

    • Training Starts Wednesday 13 June 2018.
    • Train once or twice per week with our Elite Team for at least 9 sessions and as many Elite Sessions as you can manage out of 34 possible sessions. 
    • 60-90 minute Sessions are held at Balmoral on Wednesday @ 9.30am with childcare available for $14.90 per session per child.
    • 60 minute Session on select Fridays during the school term.
    • 30 minute extension sessions on selected Tuesdays and Thursdays published in the selection below.
    • Library of Success Program and Training Diary
    • Pre-race consultation, plan and goal setting.

    Full Flexibility Package

    Our extensions sessions packages have been so successful that are going to bring them in them to our City2Surf training. 

    Wednesday 9.30am is our main C2S running session but if it does not work for you you can arrange to train before or after or 6am sessions for an extra 30 minutes on a Tuesday or Thursday on selected dates. We will add extra running to your training with Fit4Dreams and Mums Squad and then add an extra 30 minutes of running training to you. All you have to do is elect to take up the flexibility package and then organise with me when you will be coming to training so I can plan your sessions. The cost is the same but you can do as many extension sessions as you can manage each week. You will also need to add an extra $5 for any extended childcare.
